I've been playing around with milsurps for years,Mausers,Springfields,Mannlichers,Mosin Nagants. Lately I've been talking to a collector/shooter friend in Zurich Switzerland and He's got my obsessed with trying out a Schmidt-Rubin. I've always been intrigued with the straight pull design of these rifles but so far I haven't had the opportunity to shoot one of these. How many Schmidt-Rubin shooters do we have here? And what can Ya'll tell me of your experiences with these rifles?

One of my favorite C&R purchases is a K31. Mild recoil, tack driver, good sights, but the action is unbelievable. The straight pull bolt can't be beat for ease of use. Only bad thing is the cost of ammo, unless you reload, but at least there are supplies of ammo out there.

Haven't bought one yet, but played with a few at a local shop. VERY neat guns!

/me like :)

Is ammo still hard to find though?

Use my M1911 Schmidt-Rubin

for the informal High-Power matches at our local range. At the current prices of the K-31's coming over here, no gun safe would be complete without one!
