I posted several topics about accuracy with my TC bp rifle. I couldn't keep shots on the paper at 50 yards. I changed the scope and that fixed most of the problem.

I am shooting a 250 grain Hornady .452 XTP bullet with a TC sabot. With 90 grains of pyrodex I am getting a 3 inch group at 100 yards. This is good enough for me. I might improve accuracy with a change in powder but the deer are calling me now so I will wait till later.

Thanks to all for your help.

I really think that the Sabots are designed for a faster twist like a 1 in 28.
Twas me, I'd shoot , for hunting, a 370 grain Maxi-Ball in the .50 caliber.
In my T/C Hawkin I shoot this bullet over 90 grains of FFG with excellent results.
I've dropped.in their tracks. 15 PA whitetails with this setup, the 16th ran about 20 yards.
