Field and Stream in the Nov magazine praised the T3 Rifle heavily (on page 25). I was wondering if anyone has shot/used/seen this rifle? Is it any good?

Thanks in advance.

I know it is not specifically what you were asking about, but I have a Tikka Whitetail hunter (the predecessor to the T3). I love my Tikka. The balance of the rifle was good it wasn't to heavy, the trigger was great and then I adjusted it and made it better.

The only reason that I went with the Whitetail hunter was because I wanted my in .308 which is short action, and the T3's are only long action. If I had wanted a .30-06 I would have definitely waited to get a T3. If you are thinking about getting a hunting rifle I would recommend you give Tikka long hard look.

T3 stainless .270WSM

I recently picked up a T3 Stainless in .270 WSM. I've only had 1 range session, but so far I'm very impresses with the rifle. The trigger was 3.5 lbs[but very crisp] out of the box. I could have lived with it, but decided to try the adjustment screw. I turn of the allen head on the triggger group brought it down to 2.25 lbs, and still crisp. The bolt runs like its on greased roller bearings, and I think the detatchable single column mag is really neat. The rifle only comes in 1 lenght, long, but that is probally one of the ways TIKKA keeps the prices down.

Kcustom45, I thought the Whitetail Hunter series was only in 1 action lenght also....everyone of them I've messed with has been a long action, including a friends .223.

I'm starting working up handloads now, but my first trip to the range was a real eye opener. I took one box of WW 150 grn Power Pts[which I normalyy don't associate with good groups]. The 150's clocked 3111 fps over the chrono, and yielded a .55" 3 shot group!

I love mine.:D I somewhat knew of Sako's reputation, but knew nothing re Tikka - took a chance without doing any heavy duty research - and man, am I grateful. Since having bought in October, I have heard ONLY good things and do not regret the purchase at all; even thinking about another one, soon. I have the 300wsm. Good luck.

Thanks for the input and link...I don't know how i missed that? My excuse will be that I am new to the forum.

Sounds like a nice gun. Santa.....Tikka....Please!!!
