I bought a Tikka T3 Hunter in .308 Winchester. I will primarily use it for hunting South Texas whitetail. Any suggestions on a brand and model of ammo for this? Who has a Tikka T3 Hunter in .308, and what shoots good out of it?
Thanks!

My Tikka T3 Varmint shoots winchester, 150gr super X's at about an MOA to about 300 yards, perfectly fine for hunting. The only way I know this is because I went out and tried a whole bunch of different ammo.

For hunting white tale you don't need any fancy, super expensive, or extreme bullet. All manufactures (Winchester, Remington, Federal...) make ammo for thin skinned, medium game and they will all work fine from a purely objective "killing ability". You need to find the one that you like most, the one your gun likes the most because you will probably find one shoots better or worse than another brand. As for generals, I hunt with the 150gr super Xs, they work fine because I have killed abut two dozen dear with um', I would not recommend a load less than 150grs though.

My T3 lite stainless likes Black Hills black box match 165 ballistic tips. I have been too lazy to work up a more accurate handload for it, because these work just fine as is.
