I want to start a pin league at my gun club. And need some help with details from fellow pin shooters. I want to do this with pistols only this year at a close distance maybe next year i'll start a shotgun division and a rifle divison. So my first question is What do i make the tables out of if i make them out of wood will they with stand a few weeks of rounds thrown at them? or do i need to just bite the bullet and build them out of steel? I don't want to start a persay league this year i would like to do it week to week and have a cash payout. Any idea what i should charge I would like to do it like a 50/50 payout 50% to the shooters and 50% to the club? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated

At our weekly match the tables are 1/4" boiler plate on 2" box-section legs. Very durable and safe(heavy, though). The table-top is 6'x3'. Height, IIrc is 38". Here are some pix. A payout is a neat idea. We pay $15 for a match and $10 for subsequents with NO payout (and are happy, too!)

We replace them when they get real heavy or too lumpy to roll, or when they get so broken up they won't stand up anymore. It really depends on what they are getting hit with (maggies really tear them up, .22's hardly damage them at all).
