Lou... which is your favorite? Let me guess... the '55 Model 12 perhaps?

That 1972 High Standard sure is a looker! Is it as nice a gun as it looks? And the butt stock wood on the '55 Winny 12 is awesome.

Finally done with my mods to this gun. Got the ribbed wood forearm and refinished the bantam butt stock and forearm in red mahogany stain oil finish. Black plastic is history. Now this gun is really feeling like my own! ;) Same plan will take place with my 18.5 Persuader.

I dont have a short enough shotty to use as a HD gun, so i rely on a makarov for now. I plan on a Norinco 1897 though, just because i want a trench gun.

I never understood the utility of the breakdown feature of a Model 12.
But then I read that some people take their shotguns when they travel.

Of course, a field gun would need more room for the barrel.

1959 Winchester Model 12 factory riot with 20.5" barrel
(2 inches LONGER than NFA)
Would look even better in a Hello Kitty(TM) backpack. :D

Sgt, how did you get your foam cut? I've been thinking about making a custom case for my AR and 590A1 and would be interested in the process.

This was not my idea, I read it on the internet somewhere but for the life of me can't remember the source.

1) Buy some chalk (chalkboard, sidewalk, whatever) and en electric carving knife.

2) On the backside of the foam, make chalk outlines of your firearms and accessories in the positions you want them in. You want to do it on the back because no matter how hard you try, you'll probably never get the chalk 100% cleaned off of the foam (cleaning it off of the firearms is easy though, no worries there).

3) Use the electric carving knife to cut out the chalk outlines. Be careful to keep the knife at a 90 degree angle to the foam so you get a straight cut on both sides. If you go slow, this is pretty easy to do. Takes a while though.

4) You can clean (almost all of) the chalk off the foam with a damp cloth, and clean up your firearms with the gun cleaning product(s) of your choice.

Here are a few pics of mine. I like to keep things simple. It's a Mossberg 590A1 with 18.5" barrel and ghost ring sights. I added a CompStock, a Houge overmolded forend and a 2 round mag extension with Wolf mag spring. I shoot the heck out of it without an issue to speak of. (Yes I'm the guy with the short shotgun shooting clays at the range LOL).

Tried this over the weekend, Sgt_R, and it was messy to say the least haha. I think I'm going to need more practice.

I redid mine over the weekend to accommodate a new toy. It didn't come out as well as I would have liked, but it's more than good enough to get the job done.

Nice stock. I wouldn't mind one like that for my Pardner Pump, except id want it raked down like a standard stock. Hows the recoil feel?

My homes guardian looking pretty for the camera, I think it's smiling in a few pics!
Its a Mossberg 500 SPX and the Limbsaver M4 recoil pad and heat shield is the only add-on, Both of which are great at the range.

RedCent - I just had to ask, whats up with the purple reciever? Not that I'm making fun, it's just that I have never seen anyone do that to a shotgun, or any gun for that matter.

Nice stock. I wouldn't mind one like that for my Pardner Pump, except id want it raked down like a standard stock. Hows the recoil feel?

I went with the high tube stock adapter specifically for the Eotech. Those things are just incredibly fast to get a target picture, and in my case, the closer the weapon feels to an AR-15, the more natural it feels with that sight. YMMV.

The recoil is kind of like you'd expect. Feels just a little more oppressive than a normal full stock, but at the same time seems easier to keep it on target. Now, I haven't put an Eotech on any other shotgun before, so I don't know much of that credit should go to the sight, and how much goes to the stock.

Unless I am selling something, I have always been a bit leery of the whole "show and tell" thing. ;) But, I will say that I have a decently equipped Mossberg 590 (with a few A1 parts) for HD duty, if necessary.
