The new version is about to be released. You can pre-order it at the link below. Taffin was disappointed with the original .44 book being done as a paperback with few color photos. This new printing is supposed to have new material, color photos and a hard cover.

I have his book on the .45 and it is a hardback with many color photos. Excellent book. I make sure it is in my car when I visit my favorite gunshop since Mr. Taffin frequents the same shop and I would like it autographed.

Taffin used to take orders through his own site, and he would personally autograph them. I don't think he's doing this anymore though.

I bought three of his books that way, and all are autographed. It would be great if he still did this.

Great to know. Several years ago I searched for this book only to find it out of print and very expensive on the second hand market. Much more than the $60 here.

I think the only one I got autographed was the CAS book, ordered directly from him. I had Munden sign my copy of Big Bore Sixguns, like it was a high school yearbook.

I have the older copy of John Taffin's paperback "Book of the .44" from Gundigest . However if the new edition is twice as thick ,hard cover and in color then count me in.
