It’s about time for me to buy myself a new toy. This is by far the most affordable 10mm I have ran across and it is not very far off from what I want. In fact, add a set of g10 grips and a different sight setup and I’m happy with the gun. I’m just nervous about 10mm in a 1911 due to the unsupported chamber I had in the Delta Elite, but RIA is supposedly well supported.

I have been impressed with mine. I installed a neoprene buffer and some proper wood grips.
I noted a couple of light strikes, fail to fire, in the first 100 rounds. The firing pin spring was very stiff. I swapped it out and have had no issues. A7889F24-9A5E-4F28-9285-4C3251AF074C.jpeg Talk you out of it? Noop.

Certainly wouldn't want to talk you out
of an RIA.

But when it comes to 10mm, think of it
this way: The world is a huge bag of
yummy chocolate chip cookies but
occasionally a soggy cookie shows up with
raisins instead of chocolate chips. Yes,
the 10mm is a soggy raisin.

My son bought a RIA Tac Ultra FS a few years ago to be his companion in the Montana Rocky Mountains. It's a beast. No functional issues other than the ambi-safety which I replaced with an EGW single side safety because the RIA was constantly getting bumped by his hand during firing.

If you're planning on putting 20,000 full house 10mm rounds through it, I should point out that full house 10mm is tough on a 1911. In my opinion, the 10mm is too much for the 1911 design in terms of long service life. I say this with tears in my eyes because I've been a 1911 fanboy since Uncle Sugar put one on my hands in 1973.

After a couple of years carrying his RIA my son bought an XD-M 5.25" 10mm which he now carries in the mountains. The RIA now lives in his car. I've shot both of his pistols side-by-side and if I wanted a 10mm, I'd get the XD. Luckily, there are no grizzlys, wolves, or mountain lions here. All we have to contend with are squirrels and chipmunks which my 1911 9x23 can easily handle.:)
