Talking about snakes, bees and other check tis out.

I got this from makarov.com hunting and fishing board. Caught by hand!!!!!!!!!!

That puts my 56# cat I caught to shame.

Yes, I've heard that people actually dive down and hoss them critters to shore. I prefer 30# test line and a 14 -16' rod, cast out about 125 yds with and 8 oz wt and shad caught in a throw net. Sit back, wait, . only negative is when your not paying attention and a stripper gets on....can run through 400 yds of line, mighty fast.

BTW--Chainsaw, though won't fit in tackle box , might handy to umm...'clean' one of them ugly critters.

Retired River Rat here;)

LOL!!! I dont believe that I would be diving for 'em. Those guys are nuts.:) Catfishing is my #2 hobby, but if the cats are bigger than me or my boat. fer get it........;)

That reminds me of those guys in Lousiana that catch catfish out of the swamps using their arms as bait. They just stick their arms in the water and wait for one to latch on. Then, they pull them up. Crazy. I prefer a rod and tackle myself. What do people do with catfish that size? They must taste like the bottom of the lake. I can't stand to eat cats any bigger than about 5 or 6 pounds, and then they have to be in clean water or channel cats.

Sulaco, those are the type of guys I was referring to, and its not just in LA.

Big cats. I 've caught my share of big ones, like I said the biggest was 56 #.

One of the colleges needed one for students to study I them let have a 30#. We put in a minnow tank at the bait shop up the road until they could come get it. I hear that was a real interesting deal. First student showed up in VW BUG :D They figure it out, finally. Bait shop owner got pictures , not sure the pictures were blurry because he was laughing, couldn't take pictures, or the young college girls had short shorts and halter tops.

Sometimes the Homeless shelters, or the poor folks down on the river took the meat.

I just wanted the satisfaction of catching the big ones, fresh air, and yea, ..well, ...at the time ...I did drink, so I might have had a drink, or two, or...or...or

Oh-- a 22lr will richochet off a cat's head, 45 Acp and 357 have a bit more authority.
