Hey guys, this weekend, or possibly before I will have an AK variant of some kind or another and am thinking about new furniture.
What are the thoughts on the Tapco stocks for the AK?
Ive heard they tend to not be very solid and can wobble, or might become crooked, any truth ot that.

Thanks alot.

i dont have one but have heard good things
they seem to be much preffered over the side folding counterparts
i hate the look of them on an ak thats just me
meanwhile my stock is to short for my body frame and in all honesty the t-6 seems like the best option to go for, but i simply refuse based on looks alone

I've heard the same things. I personally would not put a Tapco collapsable/folder on any thing I expected durability from.

But that's just me. I'd go with an Ace stock.

I put one on my MAK-90. It's plenty sturdy enough- I wouldn't go beating people over the head with it, but it doesn't wobble in the mount. There is a touch (very little, but some) play in the buttstock piece, but that's to be expected since it IS adjustable. You might need to do some fitting to make it go in the receiver- I had to file it down a touch, but it fits perfectly.

I find the fit to be outstanding, even if the AK purists hate the thought of it. The Tapco SAW pistol grip and the T6 stock combo feels great. I also put on the Galil handguard, but I am not convinced that it is the best thing in the world- fits OK (took some Dremeling to make it fit), but I don't know how it will hold up in the long run.

Bottom line: there's a lot of hate out there for the Tapco furniture, but IMO, it works and fits just fine, and I have no regrets.

I like them. Not too pricey, and unless you intend on busting one by butt stroking someone in the jaw real hard, it should never wear out.

i have them, the saw grips, and the galil handguards on both my wasr10, and my wife's wasr.

they are definitely more comfortable than the standard furniture, and i needed the longer stock because i'm 6'5"

i put the available butt pads on too, and everybody that's used the guns have liked the adjustable feature.

do they look different? yes, but i don't care because they're much more fun too shoot.

can i slap someone with the stock? probably not, but i can whack 'em with the barrel if i need to.
