There use to be a company that sold bullet casting alloy named tara corp, I think. But I can not find them on the web. Anyone know if they are still around?

The company name was Tara Corp. and the alloy was called Magnum Metal.

It is 2% tin, 6% antimony, 92% lead, with a BNH of 15.

You can duplicate it by mixing 50% pure lead with 50% Linotype.

I did some research a year or so ago and if i remember correctly the business just changed hands and is under some other name now. Perhaps someone with more info will chime in. I still have a few bags of Lawrence brand magnum shot from Taracorp...very consistent stuff.

Talked to him today. He isn't selling alloy anymore. And I've tried buying from him off an on for the last several years. Never got anything. For all practical purposes, at least as far as alloy is concerned, he is out of business. May sell other things, like furnaces, but not alloy.
