Target stands

old thread but just wanted to say thanks! i made one of these today out of scraps i had laying around.

i may try the pvc design to set up multiple targets if i get a chance during the Christmas break to build any.

We used to utilize old real estate sign frames (tubular metal) also, but my supply finally ran out.
I asked my local welder to fabricate 4 target stands, cost me $150 for all. Made out of 1/2" round bar steel, length is 60" and is 24" wide. A horizontal center bar is located at about 24" from the top bar. Foot pegs are welded about 8" from the bottom of the two legs, and he cut the ends at a 45 degree angle to go into our wonderful clay soil here. So far have worked well. Kept one and gave the rest away as Christmas presents. Next work order I have go in, may have another couple made up.
I enjoyed looking at the designs people came up with for the wood and PVC stands, some great ideas there.

If u can get a couple pieces of rebar or similar steel into the ground--this is about as portable as i could ever think of. 2 Pieces of electrical conduit. Attach cardboard to them with zip straps along the edge, and slide "conduit tgts." over the rebar and you're done--

As for steel, the local brickyard might just give u their cinder block molds when they get out of spec.--

Thks. man--yeah it's great shooting steel. It's the only way i test anymore beyond 100-200 yds.

Probably a little late, but we were able to pick up a ton of political signs after the elections last month. I've got a stack in my storage shed and one is usually enough for an afternoon at the range. I'll bet you can still find some political signs on rural roads.
