Wife uses .38spl Fed 148gr match wadcutters in her K-frame snubby. She shoots them well, POA~POI, and she can shoot a whole cylinder without having to adjust her grip due to recoil. Sure beats her next-smaller gun, a Kel-tec P32 shooting .32ACP.
For my own snubby, I like the Rem FBI load (158gr LSWCHP+P), any of the Buffalo Bore std or +P lead loadings, and similar loads. Generally, I want the ability to penetrate a ways, given the prevalence of stray dogs herebouts who may not be impressed with a premium HP and lesser penetration.
