Yeah, I just found this stuff at the asian market. It's pretty good stuff. 120 calories, but it's pretty filling. 10g of protein, compared to beef jerky's 15g per ounce, while this stuff is 1.3 ounces. However, you get a lot more food than you would with 1 ounce of beef jerky. Also, it has no nitrates in it, but it does have MSG, so kinda a tradeoff there.

It should keep for a long time, it's dried, and has lots of salt in it.

It's pretty reasonably priced, at 1 dollar.

I think it'd be a good survivalist type snack, or just an all round snack. It's dehydrated, so it'll expand when cooked in water, so it'd be good to cook in water or rice. Also, it has fish protein, which I hear is arguably the best protein to eat, and fish in general has lots of benefits.

Here's a link to it. He's overcharging, since I pay a dollar, and I live in CT, which doesnt have many Asians, so prices here are obviously more than many other places for Asian food (except maybe North Dakota or something), so yeah, dont buy from him.

But definitely check out your Asian markets, and international stores in general for good food. Asian in particular, because they have lots of dried food, which is meant to keep for long periods of time. They have dried whole fish and stuff at mine, and long 2 foot long and 4 inch wide strips of dried squid at mine, for only 2 dollars.

Maybe it's a bit out of the realm of this section, but I figured this info could be helpful to some people.

is it the kind of snack you'd be in the mood for..... or the kind of snack you'd eat when you've run out of everything else.

I'm interested because I need snacks to help me eat, but not eat bad stuff as I need to loose weight so I can better do the one most common self-defense tactic - run!

Ummm... yeah.

One of my standard strategies and/or tactics is to break out the taro fish snacks whenever I'm being assaulted.

Or maybe that should be - a salted fish snack.

Whatever.

geez.....
