Texas... finally
In order to round out my meager "collection" I really need a .22. I am thinking I would prefer a revolver as I like the relative simplicity. They're also just fun.

Anyway, I am thinking about the Taurus 992, 4", blued. It shoots .22lr and .22wmr with a swap of the cylinder. Wondering if anyone else has one and what their opinions of it might be?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you.

I had a 990 for a while. Same gun but without the interchangeable cylinder. Mine had a 6" barrel, which made it kinda heavy. Other than that, I liked it though sold it when I found something I liked better.

I have no experience with the one you're asking about, but have you ever thought about a Ruger single six with swappable cylinders? If you don't want the 22 mag, consider a smith 617

I had the 6-inch model. It was very accurate, good DA trigger, easy to swap cylinders. I enjoyed it, but traded it for a 7-inch S&W 22a, after deciding that I prefer auto-loaders. When I can afford to own both, I'll pick up another.

I have considered a single action but would really like a double action.

Thanks all for the input. I betwixt and between right now but will start the search in a few weeks. Any further input is greatly appreciated.

correct me if I am wrong, but they make a 4" & 6" model. I would love to see a snubbie one
