I've heard from two local gun shops that there were a number of problems with the new taurus 1911. One actually said they recalled the first batch. Are there any satisfied PT1911 owners?
well, i own a "first batch" 1911. ive had no troubles with it, it shoots great. i've heard a small number of issues with the taurus hammer lock and the MIM ejectors. both are easily replaceable though. if they didnt specify "what" the problems were, i wouldnt listen. the thing with a 1911, just about any problem can be fixed yourself.
I got mine at the beginning of the year and have over 1000 rds through it zero malfunctions with any ammo and zero problems. No complaints about finish or workmanship. I paid $477 with NICS and tax.
The 2 local gunshops might be interested in selling you something with a higher profit margin.
