Please help me remember. A while back, Taurus had a 5 shot .44 mag snub (I don't think it was a tracker). I handled one at a gun show and I really liked it, but didn't have the cash. It was stainless, 5 shot, 3" barrel and no compensator. Does anyone remember what model this was? I'd like to find one now. Thanks.

Pretty sure what you saw was a 44 Spl in a 3" round butt, 5 shot, non adjustable stainless iteration? Or it might have been a Titanium model.

They had two models that sound like that, but they were 44 specials. The M441 was 5 shot, stainless steel(don't know if they made it in blue), adj sights, round or square butt, with a 3, 4, or 6 inch barrel. I had one in a 3" square butt and it was a great shooter. The M431 was a fixed sight version of the M441. I also had this one in a 3" square butt blued and it was one of my favorites while I was in my .44 spl phase. Sadly, these models were discontinued years ago. I found mine online at GA. Hope this helped.

Taurus snubbie

Taurus makes the Model 415 but it's a .41 Magnum. This revolver has a 2 1/2" barrel.

Taurus had a special run of 3" 44 mag's a few years ago. It was sort of like their equivalent of a Lew Horton special run of S&W's. Once the run was over they did not make the 3" part of the regular line. You will see one on Gunbroker auctions or Auction Arms from time to time. They will usually go for around $310 to $360. This is not a 431 or 441 in 44 spl; nor is it a Tracker. It is a model 44 in 44 mag- 3". Saw one in a Gunbroker picture that was stainless - never seen another one like it.

Regards,

:) :) :)

The 3" model 44 sounds like the one I was talking about, although I'm pretty sure the one I handled was a 5 shot. I recall a write up in one of the magazines I get (can't find that issue either) in which the author said the gun was pleasant with .44 specials, but only tested two .44 mag loads since the recoil was so painful. I only saw the one at that show and haven't seen another. I'll keep looking.
