Taurus 605 with a 3" bbl, unusual or not?

I have a blued 605 with a 3" barrel. I have never seen or heard of this configuration. Do I have a oddity or were they fairly common?

I purchased this revolver new several years ago and have never fired it.

I have a Taurus M85 38 Special with a 3 inch barrel that I too bought several years ago..... NIB for $195. I know Taurus ceased making this configuration a few yers back. I sure don't see these come up for sale at auction. I love mine. Smooth action, tight lock up, a bit longer sight radius, and just a tad heavier than a 2" snub..... I carry it in a Anderson Enterprise fanny pack ( here in the Pacific NW if you DON"T wear a fanny pack you look odd ! ). I can't figure out why they stopped making these. A 3 inch Taurus stainless steel Model 85 and 605 would offer an alternative to the Ruger 3" SP101 series...and put adjustable sights on them and the Smith 3" M60 has competition !......oh well.

Mine is two inch. I have not seen the three inch version.

A check of the Taurus web site shows that the 3" version is no longer cataloged. I have never seen one and I have owned two. You may have a rare bird there!!!
