Hi all new to the forums and like the site!

Here is my issue. I just bought a Taurus model 626 (Tracker in titanium, .357) that is NIB. The problem is I cant find a record of this model anywhere on Taurus website or the internet in general. From what I can tell it is the same as a 627 but only has 6 shots instead of 7.

Anyone out there have any info on when these guns were made/discontinued and the MSRP? Also, how is Taurus service for models that are discontinued.

Thanks in advance.

Taurus discontinued all Titanium models a couple of months ago if I remember correctly. They disco'd due to the rising cost of titanium and the fact that costs were starting to soar. If you go to Tom Gresham's Guntalk website you might find the interview in a podcast. (I believe june-aug)

an article on the Taurus titanium 38

http://www.smallarmsreview.com/pdf/taurus.pdf, this is the one I have, about the time it first got released, I traded a 9m Kahr that jammed twice at the range. I wanted something small and reliable for daily use. I always carry, so sometimes it's just to hot down here to lug a larger weapon around.

The image of the 616/626 looks a lot like my gun, although the gun in that image doesnt look like it has adjustable sights.

I dont think it is mislabeled though, there is a '626' etched in the metal under the cylinder hinge and the box is labeled 'M626'. That said, they could be the same gun
