This is going to look bad on Taurus or me, I'm not sure which.

Just got a taurus 85 UL last weekend. Went out and shot it, was consistently hitting at least 2" to the left unsupported. Thought that maybe it just didn't like the 158 gr bullets I was using, so I got some lighter factory stuff (winchester 125gr +p) and made up some of my own with 125 gr bullets as well. Everything is still hitting to the left. Changed out the boot grip with a hogue monogrip, same story. I don't have a vise to shoot from, was going to give it to one of my buddies to shoot as well to see if this is me. Is there something I'm missing? I have and shoot a 6" GP100 and have no problems with accuracy with it, and have several other handguns that I do pretty well with.

you cant expect things to be the same when switching to a 2 inch barrel from a fully adjustable sighted 6 inch barrel.

How are the bullets grouping in those "consistent 2 inches left"? from the way you describe in such general limited terms, it sounds like your Point of Impact is a few inches left of your Point of Aim.
-sounds like if you have a model with the rear sight that slides left/right, you should slide it over to compensate for the poi.
-are you jerking your gun/trigger/hand/etc when firing?

The 85 has fixed sights. I have tried shooting from a rest to take my poor shooting out of the equation, but with the sights lined up (according to my eyes) the POI is always left of the POA.

Mine was a little off and I didn't like the stainless front sight anyway and wanted a Keith style elevation bar installed, so I had it worked over, ground off the front sight and installed a dove tail adjustable by drifting. I liked the gun so much when I got it that dumping another 80 bucks in this job seemed like a good thing and, indeed, I have regulated it now and it has shot fantastic for me.

If it's just a defense gun, though, and you're not flinching, just use some kentucky windage. I've shot well enough with my M10, which shoots a few inches left, to win some revolver shoots.

I've had the same problem w. the 85 & an older 22 mag on the same frame. I adapted a set of Pacmyer (SP) "K" sided grips made for the "J" frame & cured the problem w/ the mag. The 85 is a defense gun & @ 3 ft to 3 yds I don't use sights. It doesn't hit POA w/ the sites but hits "Point of Look" just fine.

Note the front sight mod....

I carry the Taurus 85UL daily. Mine has an adjustable rear sight (left to right set screw- came with it). At 25 feet shoots 2 inch groups. Wouldn't try beyond this range. But this isn't used for target shooting, just self defense (as mentioned by Triphammer, above). Have been very happy with it, but did take a little adustment to get used to, mainly because of the grip (which I have not changed), short sight radius, and the fact I have big hands (grip feels thin and short to me - then that is the way I see it). Take a firm grip and practice. That's the only thing I would suggest. Maybe have someone else try it out who has a snubbie.

Have a few more people try it out to make sure you are not the problem and then decide if you are willing to live with it or send it back to Taurus and wait 3/4 months for your gun to come back or sell the thing and get something else.:banghead:
