Taurus 905 9mm
I had been wanting a 9mm revolver. The suspects were:
S&W 940
Ruger Service Six
Ruger SP101
Taurus 905
I happened upon a new Taurus 905 in the box today for $275. I was a little reluctant because of the mixed reviews on Tauruses in general. However, most of what I read said that if they are good they are good and if they are defective you will know right away. I took a chance and got a winner.
This little gun put a grin on my face that lasted for hours. It is an absolute hoot to shoot and suprisingly accurate for a snubby. It has a snappy but controlable recoil. Reminds me of the 357 I grew up shooting. It was most exceptional during double action rapid fire. I put a string of 25 rapid fire shots in the 10 ring at 7 yards easily.
Trigger is very good and it ate boxes of ammo without issue both with and without the moon clips. The only complaint is the moon clips themselves. They are thin and flimsey and are just plain terrible. However, I like this gun so much, I am not sweating that short coming at all. I can see this gun moving to the top of my favorites.
