I am looking to buy a revolver for my parents. They only want a 9mm, since they have a ton of that ammo and don't want to start buying a different caliber. The Taurus M905 is the only 'new' 9mm revolver I can find. Does anyone have experience with this model? Are there any issues I should be aware of?

mine's been very accurate.the only issue is the moon clips are thin and kinda flimsy.I've heard of some that will missfire without the clips but mine works great.+p loads can cause sticky ejection.

Mine had a tendency to spin freely in the cylinder when it was closed. I sent it back, the issue seems to be fixed as the trigger and action are much smoother than when I had it.

Also, check under the sideplate for metal shavings.

Otherwise, it's ok to fire. Watch the +P loads, as the 9MM's recoil in this revolver is stout as is.

I've got one that I like a lot. It is a very small revolver and easily carried. Quite a shooter too! Mine works fine with or without the moon clips-just slower to remove the empties. Good choice I think.

Is it not possible to use clips that were designed for other 5 shot 9mm revolvers such as the S&W 940 or the Ruger SP101?

you'd have to modify the cylinder as the smith and ruger clips ar too thick.

I have used clips intended for a Ruger SP101. They 'worked' but were tight when inserting ammo into the Taurus cylinder.

After some careful eyeballing and some gentle relief grinding with a dremel, they work beautifully.

I had to slightly deepen the clip where it holds the rounds-effectively increasing the circle size of the 5 rounds.
