Taurus pt-1911 question

I have a Taurus Pt-1911 38 super that I absolutely love and was wondering if I could put any slide on it that I wanted or if Taurus used a proprietary measurement. I want to change the slide and barrel to a 9mm just for cheaper ammo reasons. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
