Taurus/Rossi differences

Taurus bought rossi several years ago. However the rossi revolver is different than the taurus. The only change taurus did to the rossi was to add the lock on the hammer. The Rossi's medium frame is smaller than the taurus. The rossi frame is close to the colt d frame and the taurus is slightly bigger than a smith k frame. Also the rossi still has a hammer mounted firing pin with a hammer block like the old smith and wessons. The rossi internals are very similar to a scaled up smith j frame. Taurus revolvers has a transfer bar like rugers. Taurus also have serveral internal differences so that they are much less s&W copies.

They are both good budget guns but feel and balance differently with a different trigger feel.

I've owned several examples of both and still own a few Rossis and Tauri. I really like the little Rossi six shot .357 snubby, very reminiscent of the Colt D frames as mentioned and on a budget price. They are a step above anything I've ever seen in the price range. Though some criticize the DA trigger on 'em, and, no, it's not Smith and Wesson or Taurus quality, it's plenty serviceable. I shoot mine well. For folks on a budget, the Rossis are nice little guns. Even if you're not on a budget, a 6 shot snubby .357 that's smaller and lighter than a K frame has merit. I wish they'd build that gun with a 3" barrel, though.
