I have broken the rear sight while making a adjustment. I understand that they are not covered by the warranty. Is it possible to order a replacement from the factory? Also is it possible to install an adjustable sight on this model? (PT-92)

You can direct purchase just about any part (except the frame, of course) from Taurus. I suggest you visit their website (www.taurususa.com) and get a number for them. Checkout the parts list in your owner's manual b4 calling and see if you can find a part number. Alternatives would be MMC sights - makes some very nice adjustable "combat" size sites that should blend nicely with the Taurus 92 lines. Also, IIRC, meprolight is making an adjustable sight. You might also check Brownells for other manufacturers.

BTW, how did you manage to break your sight? Were you using a sight pusher or the time honored hammer and punch (brute force)? If you don't have a sight pusher, I would recommend getting one (brownells has a nice little unit that covers 90% of the models out there for less than $200 - I'll poke around and see if I can find a stock #).

Anyway hope this helps. Good luck.

FYI on sight pusher: Brownells stock # 694-000-001 $120. This is the model I have and it works beautifully.

Brownells only lists one adjustable sight for your gun and that is Millet. Not too bad in my experience but it sticks up a bit and I wonder if it has enough adjustment to compensate for the fixed front sight.
