Does anyone own or have any experience with the Taurus Titanium 45 ACP revolver? Im looking at picking one up.

How about ANY experience with taurus titanium revolers or taurus revolvers?

Thanks.

I have a 445Ti in 44spl. Nice snubby, but the ported barrel is not a good feature for up close and personal use. The ribber grip helps tame the stout recoil. Had problem with the internal lock, but Taurus fixed it in a few weeks. Don't think I would buy it again, but have no plans to sell it.

I have a 38 special model 85 and a 357 model 651. The 651 is a LOT nicer than the 38 special. I really have no complaints, it's more accurate than a snubby has a right to be. The trigger is pretty nice too, even my smith owning friends were impressed. Maybe I just got a good one or something.

I have the 445 in stainless.
I've always wanted a snubby but kept spending my money on 1911s.:D
Since I reload and found this one cheap, I took the plunge. I wasn't expecting much out of it but man, was I surprised. This little(?) gun is dead accurate at 15 yards and a ton of fun to shoot. Recoil is absorbed surprising well with the Taurus grips and with my milder reloads is very pleasant. My wife likes it, too.:)
I did swap the main and trigger springs with Wolff lighter springs to reduce the double action pull. The single action right out of the box was very good. Light and crisp.
I would say go for it. I really like mine.

I have a Tracker 455ss, 4" barrel. Not titanium, tho. I like it a lot. Very accurate, and the ribber grips absorb a lot of the recoil. The only complaint I have is having to use the stellar clips. That's really not much of a complaint, tho. Overall, very good revolver. I would recommend it to anyone.

I've been carrying and shooting a Taurus 450 Titanium for a number (?) of years now. I have nothing but praise for it and I find the porting to be very beneficial with follow-up shots. I don't find the muzzle flash to be 'blinding' at night and if I ever have to fire it with my eye 6" above the muzzle, I figure that I'm in a heap of feces anyway.
Biker

I have to agree with Biker. I've had a 450 Tit. for about a year and absolutely love it. By the way, Buffalo Bore Ammunition offers a 200gr. Gold Dot load designed for this type of pistol. I have not had a chance to get a 45ACP Taurus yet. I have only seen one at a gun show and I think they have all been discontinued. I would love one. The full moon clips make for a very fast reload.

Friend of mine has one. It's recoil will surprise you, cause the gun is so light. But, not bad, nothing like oh, say a 357 mag snubbie.

I don't think he has had any problems with it. He does trigger jobs, and I remember him talking about working it over, but otherwise, I think it's been a fine gun out of the box for him. I think he plans on using it for CCW, but I'm not 100% on that.

Just had a 4" non-ported fixed sight titanium version delivered to my local FFL from CDNN today. I hit the range with it tomorrow - we'll see how it does. Double action is very heavy out-of-the-box, but it's pretty smooth and even. It *is* an awfully light revo, which is why I got it.... Fit and finish looks fine.

For $300 + fees, I couldn't say no to a NIB five-shot 45ACP... :D

Me like it. :D I put 100 rounds thru my new 455 this afternoon, and was well pleased with the experience.

Loading the rounds on the starclips is somewhat tedious, but it sure does make for some positive ejection. The trigger pull in DA is heavy but smooth, single action breaks cleanly. Everyone at the shop commented on how smooth and linear the DA trigger pull was. It's not quite as nice yet as my well-used K-frames, but it's really much better than my GPs and SPs and RHs. The crane is somewhat tight; I suspect that it'll burnish in over time, but as it stands out-of-the-box it's a bit balky to open and close.

Accuracy was good; offhand SA shooting with my practice handloads (~6gr Bullseye under a 200gr Ranier) gave me less than 1" groups at 7 yards (which is as good as I can demonstrably do). The recoil was quite tolerable; it was less snappy than my 1 7/8" S&W M12-2s with 158gr LSWCs. Not bad at all for a 24oz package.... It shot these loads to POA, which (since I chose the fixed-sight version) pleased me greatly.

CDNN still has 'em for $300. As far as I'm concerned, these things are a stone-cold steal and would make a really nice carry or pack sidearm. I especially like the fact that I can standardize loads for my 1911s and carbines and (now) a revolver.
