I've got a Taurus Model 62 .22 pump action rifle, basically it's the copy of the Winchester 62A gallery gun.
I'm trying to remove the front forend for refinishing. I've got the screws out of both sides of the forend, and disengaged it from the slide mechanism. The forend is loose and easily moves from front to back while riding on the ammunition tube feed assembly, but I don't know how to actually get the forend off? I've tried just pulling it down and away from to tube feed assembly and it won't budge and I'm afraid of breaking the wood. Please tell me I don't have to remove the magazine feed tube, just to get the forend off?
