Hi, I know many have said they don't like the Tavor rifle because it is a bullpup style rifle, but it has recently received great reviews for outperforming the M-16's used in the last battle in Gaza. I was wondering if anyone had their own personal comments or wanted to relook at the quality of Tavor rifles. THey really look cool and the fact they are smaller, lighterweight, can shoot farther distances and more accurately than M-16s, makes them seem exciting. I know that the Israeli Galils and M-16s are still heavily used, but it seems this gun may be replacing it. What makes the Tavor so different than your typical bullpup?

One person comments that it is a jamomatic and has some flaws.. The article states most jamming issues are fixed and is much less jam prone than M-16. DUnno if the gun is all hype, but it cannot be a bad weapon to add to your arsenal. I still don't think it should be used as the main assault gun in combat.

Heres a pretty cool pic of one:

I think it is a sweet weapon and you know the israeli's dont mess around. I love using this gun in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Next step is to use 6.5/6.8 caliber.

I don't know enough about it to make any sort of remark pertaining to it's combat-worth, but I can say they look cool, and that'd be the main reason I'd buy a bullpup anyway. I wish they'd import a semi-auto version, if for no other reason, so I could fondle one in a gun shop. Even if it has some combat-related issures, can you imagine how much money they'd make right now selling them in the States?

Do a .22LR version for half-price too while you're at it!

can shoot farther distances and more accurately than M-16s,

Huh?

I love using this gun in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.

What?!

Anyway, it seems like a neat rifle. But I'd like to know how it does down the road. You know, to see if it holds up and whatnot.... wait a sec.
Is that the "Futureweapons" guy in the photo!?

Yeah I think that is the Futureweapons guy and according to him it has "sniper like accuracy!" :D

I don't know what you mean by "What?!" of my comment about RSV2, but if you don't know its an xbox360 game.

Yeah, that is the future weapons guy and it is he on his show who claims that the Tavor shoots equally or more accurately at farther distances than the M-16. Then again, I could be wrong, but I think that was his conclusion from test firing both M-16s and Tavors at Israeli shooting range on the show. Perhaps, this is one of the reasons why IDF is replacing M-16s with Tavors.

I'm familiar with R6. Book first, multi-platform video games later. Annnnnnd it ends there.

Off topic

Yeah i was just a kid when the games came out, so I grabbed the book first then played the games (parents were kinda anti-video game when i was young)

The m-16 is a fine rifle, although there are most likely better options now. If I had to choose a rifle to replace it it would probably be this, or a SCAR. Israelis have to make good weapons because they are always under threat from all sides and within.

Hmm

Not sure what they're comparing. I suspect it is a very short barreled M16 variant versus a similar overall length Tavor (which would have a much longer barrel).

I heard Rock River Arms is going to make them too, perhaps better quality than Taurus. I be wary of Taurus made Israeli gun.. Hope it doesn't end up as a fluke like the American Century made Golanis (Galil clone).
