The REAL Steyr AUG is a rock hard proven battle weapon.

The MSAR Aug CLONE.....not so much.

I'd take a REAL Aug over the FS2000 any day of the week. But I would take an FS2000 over an MSAR Clone any day of the week.

Now the Tavor TAR-21.....thats a bullpup....never thought I'd say it, but I'm jealous of the Canadians... :)

As for military durability of the F2000 platform, I remember a Eastern European (maybe Croatian?) soldier chimed in over at FNforum.net and said that it was a good weapon that they were generally satisfied with, but that after using AK's for many years, their soldiers tended to beat on their weapons quite a bit. He said that the FN is solid, but its not as solid as an AK.

FS2000 claims another dillo

The 5.56 did a number on him, guts hanging everywhere, turned it away from the camera to avoid a blood and guts shot

I dont ever lock the bolt back though, because the gun can jam if you insert a magazine with the bolt open and then ride the bolt forward to chamber a round. The only real option is to 'smack' the handle down HK style, and (according to the head FN customer service guy) this is not a good idea.

Just a gentle downward tap with the palm works well. You won't ride the bolt forward that way.

The weak joint of the charging handle is the pivot pin. Every instance of breakage I have read involved tacticool operators HK-slapping the handle as hard as they can.

I like my FS2000, it gets range time every month and it is an attention getter. Oh, good shooter too.
