An Honest Look at the FNH FS2000 Carbine - The Underappreciated Space Gun (PICS)

Nice rifle! Love the look.

You say it looks like a Star Wars prop, but to me it looks more like a UNSC rifle from Halo.

Different generations see different things. But I'd disagree anyways. The FAMAS is more like the UNSC rifle than the FS2000, IMO of course.

The whole article is suspect. He says he wants to go to medical school. The AMA hates guns, either he is going in undercover or he's fibbing.

Greetings,

Guys, one stat you ALL need to know: AMA has less than 15% of the medical profession registered. The liberals all quote that organization, but it is not representing the medical community at all!

The NRA represents a higher percentage of shooters than the AMA represents the medical profession...With the latest endorsment of the AMA for the healthcare POS, I suspect strongly quite a few members quit.

Thank you

Goldie, thats almost exactly what my FS looks like now, only with an aimpoint instead of that optic you have. What optic is that?

For the ones with the VFG, isn't it instinctively counter-intuitive? It seems like it would feel very awkward like that, though I'm admittedly biased against VFGs.

Actually, Im not a big fan of the VFG on weapons in general, but for whatever reason, it feels better on the FS2000

Something about the big fat factory foregrip just felt hard to grab onto, especially during rapid fire. Its an ergonomic grip, but its best for rested shooting, not fast paced competition, or heaven forbid, actual combat.

I tried out the tri-rail system with a vertical foregrip, and I feel like I have more control over the weapon and that it is more pointable. I also think, as irrelevant as it is, that the tri-rail setup makes the gun look less "spacey" and more serious-business.

Its an expensive option at almost $200 after the rail and grip, but I like the aesthetic and functional improvement.

For what its worth though, I use the half-on, half-off grip method. I dont grab the VFG like a broom stick, but rather use it as a partial support/reference point for my hand. In other words, my hand holds the foregrip similar to a standard position, but it rests partially on the vertical grip. Im sure someone else will come along with the technical definition of what Im talking about

I understand what you mean Lloyd. It might just be me, but I personally don't feel the bulkiness, but then again, it may have something to do with my hand and eye dominance again.

^^Thanks. Im going to do some rabbit hunting this weekend and will update with some more pics. Assuming reliability is flawless as well, but I will update with any issues

They're sweet guns. I always found them to have exceptional ergonomics. Unlike other EBRs out there, the F2000 has been adopted by several military forces worldwide so it's not like the gun is unproven vaporware. I'd definitely get one before an AUG clone (I like the FS2K design better) or any other bullpup on the market right now.

I've little experience with the FS2000; but a great and less expensive alternative bullpup is the MSAR E4 or 556 models.

I love mine! Seems to have similar, if not better, features for less money, and modeled on a the successful combat weapon.

I shot one at the local indoor range with an eye to purchase it. I liked it as far as it goes, but I noticed that it would slap my cheek when fired. Probably just one of those things you adjust to, but it was unpleasant in that regard. I'm sure if I spent a little more time with it I would learn to appreciate it more.

It does slap a little harder on the cheek, but muzzle rise seems less than an AR style or AK rifle

I guess Im just used to it

It may not be vaporware, but the only country that has ordered a good number of them is Saudi Arabia, Belgium and other states adopted it for limited service but not in any great number. OTOH, the AUG is used in much greater numbers by more than a dozen nations, and the king of EBRs (the M-16/M-4/CAR-15 and like variants) are issued throughout the worlds by more nations than I care to count (and this is coming from someone that doesn't favor the AR).

:)

(lloydkristmas ) its a bushnell trophy red dot sight,i find these extremely accurate,i have them on a couple of guns, ive used them for years & find them to be the best red dot for the price.i added quick detach rings, too.i think croatia or a similar country bought a bunch of these, too, forgot which one it was....

True, but those platforms also have the benefit of at least 3 decades of development and production as opposed to the 10 years of the F2000/FS2000.

Looked it up...Croatia only bought a handful (100), but Slovenia has 6500 and apparently has committed to eventually buying up to 14,000 more. Saudi Arabia bought 55,000, and other nations only a few for testing, SF, et al.

I'm not ragging on em', I want to like them, they just don't fit me, or handle good for me. I was just pointing out that they aren't being used by many nation's armies. IMO the more bullpups the better. thblissysmile.gif
