I bought a 2nd barrel for my Encore rifle and the dimensions of the barrel are different than my original barrel. I plan to buy a second forearm to fit the barrel with the larger dimensions, anyone have any tips on fitting or amount of pressure of the 2 screws in the forearm. I have read some where that you shouldn't tighten the screws too much or it will affect accuracy. My first barrel is a .260 Remington and 2nd one is a .22-250. I have other rifles in the same calibers that I reload and I thought this would be a good rifle for my grandsons to shoot.

Good question. My Encore has had this issue. It is one of those "It needs to be tight enoungh, but not too tight". I put a synthetic foreend on my 460 S&W barrel and the recoil managed to loosen the screw. Ultimately, the foreend broke at the rear screw.

And there are a couple of other things to add to this question:

Is there a good second source for the fore end screws and washers?

I bought a 6.5x55 match barrel from EABCO and the screw holes don't line up with a TC forend with the correct barrel channel in a way that allows the action to work. What foreend should be used? (BTW, the factory foreend works fine with the 223 and 30-06 barrels I have).

Any help the community could provide on these things would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not gonna be much help to either of you, but a 6.5x55 barrel sounds like it'd be a good match for a hunting rifle. I am certainly weighing that as an option now.
