Anybody that was following my thread on the TC Triumph, this is a little update. Salesman explained to me why people have been having troubles with the Triumph, when the breech plug's threads get dirty they have a hard time putting it back in.....simple solution is clean it.

I bought the Triumph, black synthetic stock and Weather Shield barrel, 50 cal. Brought it home and mounted the Nikon Omega scope and proceeded outside to shoot. The rifle with scope comes in at 7lbs 10oz.

I set up at 50 yds for sighting in and once I got on target I shot a 1" group. I'm using 100 grains of Triple 7, Triple 7 primers and Hornady 250gr SST sabots shooting from the bench with only a front rest. I also shot one group with Powerbelt 245 grain bullets which did good but a little bigger than the Hornady.

I moved the target out to 100yds with the same SST loads and shot a 2" group. I'm sure the rifle is capable of doing better with a more solid rest but it's a hunting rig and 2" is perfectly fine for it's intended purpose.:) All in all I put 22 rounds down the tube and it functioned perfectly. It's easy to clean and even after 22 rounds I was able to remove the breech plug by hand without any trouble. There was no powder residue on the breech face.

The Limbsaver recoil pad was excellent at saving my shoulder. I'm giving the TC Triumph 2 big thumbs up and I'm looking forward to using it this fall for deer hunting.

Doesn't this indicate that the salesman is being less then truthful?

The salesman said that when the threads become dirty people have a hard time turning it the 90 degrees taking it out and putting back in. I don't see how the Triumph could be any worse than the Pro-Hunter with the same breech. I went with my gut and bought the rifle, happy I did.

The three metal rings and rubber O-ring kept all the fouling from the primer area, the threads themselves were black from powder residue.

No, it means he's ignorant. And doesn't care who knows it.

Well I guess that is one way to look at it. I just have a hair trigger on my BS meter I guess. Gee I wonder why I'm so cynical.

I knew it.

Hey there:
See. We told you that sales people are not all that smart.
You must go in there knowing exactly what you want. All they are there for is to take your money.
