One day on my way home from work, I heard 2 guests and one reporter on NPR talking about requiring or forcing teachers to carry guns. That's the straw man that frequently comes up, even though I've never seen any suggestion of it on the policy side.
There are 4 states that allow teachers to carry in schools. I live in one (Utah), and we've never had a mass shooting in a school (knock on wood). There was a teacher who had an ND a couple of years ago and destroyed a toilet. That's the only accident I've ever heard of.
I happen to know that some of my children's teachers and at least one principal carry at school, and I'm grateful for it. I think it's sickening that there are elitists here on THR who advocate infringing the rights of those educators who are helping me protect my kids. I have the utmost disgust for your gun control advocacy.
