I'm missing a straight pull back mechanism rifle in my collection. I know about the Schmidt Rubin K-31 and the Brno Zom451 in 22LR. Any ideas where I might find a Brno? I think Aim or SOG used to have it listed on their website. These straight pull rifles don't seem very common. Anyone here with any experience with them? Thanks.

Straight pulls are a kick

K-31, especially at $80 from AIM, is a screamin deal. I got 3 of them. You can also pick up the M-95 Steyr for chump change. I have one of those that I haven't fired.

I have heard conflicting reports on the zom451, but think I saw it in the latest Southern Ohio Guns flyer.

Enjoy.

the k-31 is the best deal in the milsurp market, hands down...
the best condition, the best fit and finish, only downfalls are the beat up buttstocks, and the lack of cheap surplus ammo... but when you buying match grade ammo, it doesn't get much cheaper than the gp-11...

the .22 you speak of is still listed in the sog flyer... everything i own that was made at brno, has been good stuff, so at 150 bucks i would go for it...

I called SOG today and they still carry the Brno Zom451 for $149.95. As tempting as AIM's offer of the K-31 for $79.95 delivered may seem, I think I'm going to get the Brno. The high price of ammo for the K-31 is one factor. Does anyone know if these Brno 22LR rifles are modern day production, or surplus from the cold war era?

One question about SOG, though. I asked which FFLs they have on file for the Houston area and they mentioned a few names of places and phone numbers. None of the FFLs they mentioned exist in Houston, and the phone numbers were not gun dealers. Has anyone here had a similar experience with them? How dependable is SOG?

I haven't run into your first question. They are quite dependable & will make things right if there is a problem. However, unless you are buying a new firearm, their grading system seems a bit overenthusiastic.
