Well,,, I would say that the largest criminal friendly area would have to be the U of A and the University Medical Center. Also known as defenseless victim zones..:banghead:

I called an UAPD officer a while back to ask about parking a car on campus with a firearm in it, and told him I had a CCW. He said that any time you park anywhere, you should unload it, keep it out of site and keep the ammunition seperate from the gun.
Then he told me that he wouldn't suggest I carry to class because there are alot of gun-unfriendlies in class that could freak out if they saw it... I was taken a bit back and said, "well, I had never planned on carrying to class..." He replied, "...sounds like a good idea." Didn't mention anything about them being government buildings that you can't carry inside of, school anti-weapon policy or anything like that...
I never carry on campus allthough do when I jog around campus. Always, always have a knife on me though.
Alot of buildings around the university don't seem to be criminal friendly though.

Board of Regents Policy
It is actually an Arizona State Board of Regents policy that disallows guns on any campus of the three State Universities and that includes the grounds and the parking lots. I cannot imagine what the UAPD office was thinking by giving you absolutely false information.
Except, maybe he was thinking about the part of the policy that states that they can confiscate your weapon and keep it.

Yeah, I didn't think that made much sense... I dont' see why an officer would want my FireStorm .380 though!!
Speaking of AZ heat... would it be ok to leave my Glock (just bought it, sale at Jensens) in the car in the heat of summer? I work in a "NO WEAPONS" medical facility.

I cannot think of any reason why your gun would be damaged, even in the heat of our mid-summer.
Its just that if your car gets broken in to it will be bye bye Mr. Glock and one more BG will be rather well armed...
