Tell me about yor G26

I want a new carry gun and narrowed it down to a G26 or a Cz Rami.I will probley go Glock for many reasons the only thing is I love how good the CZ's shoot.I have shot a CZ 83 a Cz p01 and a CZ 75 and they all shot great.
I have never shot the G26 but have shot the 19 and a 23.
This will be a carry gun and I don't want a safety to get in the way but I want a safe pistol.I don't feel safe with my LCP with one in the pipe.

Tell me the good and bad of your G26

Had a 26 liked it very much. But felt the grip was a little to wide for me (I have small hands). Now have a Rami and works great for me. Question is if you don't feel safe with one in the pipe with your LCP with the long trigger pull how are you going to feel with a Glock trigger!

The Glock 26....well, for me, it's a lot like they advertised it....the ad said something along the lines of "has as much ammo in the gun as a Chief's Special and Detective Special put together and that ammo is more powerful but easier to control in basically the same size weapon with an easier to use trigger for better accuracy"...add to that it's durability and ease of maintenance and it is a hard to beat pistol for concealed carry. Some people can't get use to curling their little finger under the mag and get a +2 mag adapter or a Pearce finger extension or even a G19, but I was use to a J frame and it just came natural....nothing against a J frame mind you, I'll be keeping mine around, but for 95+% of my everyday carry needs, the G26 fits the bill quite nicely. PS..I don't keep my mag loaded to capacity...got to have somewhere to put that chamber rd when clearing the weapon...

I carry mine everyday with one in the pipe. I use either a Glock Sport Combat holster, or a DeSantis Nemisis pocket holster. Glocks are not a candidate for Mexican carry, or for pocket carry without a holster. I also never, and I mean never place anything else in my pocket other than the holstered pistol. I agree with gilfo, if the LCP makes you uncomfortable with one in the pipe, then the Glock is probably not going to work for you.

With that said, it is an accurate, rugged, dependable firearm and with the Glock +2 magazines and one in the pipe it gives me 13 rounds. I am a big fan.

I had it and did not like it and I sold it. Just did not fit my hand well
and could never find the front sight when I pulled it up.

Have one and have used it for ccw alot, until recently. I also use it for GSSF. I really like it. I only "retired" it from ccw because I wanted something with a little more "punch" to it, so I got a G33 now for ccw. Same size, just 357sig caliber.

I use a G27 in some situations (G22 in all others). That is the same size as the 26! With a conversion barrel, it even shoots 9mm very well.

I like it. It's more accurate than you have a right to expect it to be--except for the shorter sight radius my G27 will shoot with my G22 within 15 yards.

You won't be disappointed!

My G27 is awesome, at first I didn't like it much but after a couple of times out with it, I started getting pretty good with it. It is very accurate, much more so than its dimunitive size would suggest. Also, I personally find that the glock +2 extensions are not helpful at all with the pistol. They sometimes feel like they pinch my finger, and also the pistol was designed with the pinky curl in mind, the lack of backstrap with the lengthened front feels very odd to me.

Unless your concern about having a loaded chamber on the LCP has to do with the recall, I would share the views of those other posters who state that the Glock trigger is really no more confidence inspiring than that on the LCP. Either way you have to trust your holster.

The G26 is a much larger weapon than the LCP. Depending on your situation, that may not matter; you can carry it OWB or IWB with a covering garment and most people won't notice. You won't get the sort of deep concealment you can achieve with an LCP.

Also, I prefer the G27. You give up one round of magazine capacity and have a little more recoil, and your ammunition costs go up a little, a small price to pay for the substantially improved ballistics.

The con of any glock is you have to adhere to the rules of safety much closer so it won't bite you instead of the BG. I love mine.

I like my 26. It fits my hand, although there are lots of people who can't say that. I prefer the +2 mag extensions. I don't worry about the trigger, since I'm good about keeping my finger off the boom switch. I wear mine IWB although with the onset of cold weather in balmy Texas, I'm thinking about trying a Nemesis. I have one for my J frames and like it's design.

I've had CZs and Glocks. I like the idea of DA/SA but not difference between DA and SA pull. So I prefer (but don't love) the Glock trigger.

I think you need to try both.

I've carried a G26 for about 10 years along with 19s and 17s. I like the 26 but the only advantage it has over a 19 is that the slightly smaller size makes it easier to carry in an ankle holster. If you get the +2 mag floorplates (Glock and Pearce are the good ones) you've made the grip the same size as the 19 with 3 less rounds. You can use 17 and 19 magazines but you need to try them out first. Some people I know put enough pressure on 17 and 19 mags sticking out the bottom to make the gun malfunction. I don't so i use them.

Glocks are not for stuffing in your belt and need to be carried in a holster. I like DeSantis Speed Scabbard for OWB and the Nemesis for the pocket.

I've seen marginal shooters become horrible shooters going from a 19 to a 26. They couldn't adapt to the shorter grip. Put another way they didn't try hard enough.

Is I were getting one Glock 9mm I'd get the 19. You can't go wrong getting a 26 though.

PS I would advise changing to the 3 1/2# trigger as many do on a carry gun. Changing to a lighter trigger because you're a lousy shot is not going to help you and could be a liability on a carry gun. The agency I worked for required the 8# trigger and you can work with that. I retired 3 years ago and can carry what I want and left the 8# in my 26. The 12# NY+ should be avoided at all cost. There is some combination of 8# this and 3 1/2 pound that gives you a smoother trigger without going too light that I'll try someday. Stock 5# is fine also.

FIST ultra-thin kydex is really, really thin. I have one for my 27 and love it. And there is no way that Glock is getting discharged while in one of those kydex pocket holsters.

I don't feel safe with one in my LCP because it had no firing pin safety.If the hammer falls from half cock even with your finger off the trigger it could go off.

I am issued a G17 at work, but the Glock 26 is my daily CCW. It is accurate, light weight, easily and comfortably concealed in a MTAC IWB holster...and fires every time you pull the trigger. I feel that 10 + 1 rounds of +P 9mm hollow points will deter any social problem I run into.

I, also, have a G27 and have been very happy with it.
For me it is a good balance of size, weight, accuracy, capacity and cartridge. It also carries very well over extended periods and different activities. Someone posted a quote in another thread along the lines that "a pistol should be comforting not comfortable"; well for me, the G27 is both. I think the G26 would fit all the above as well.
FWIW, I had a Rami in 9mm. It's a nice enough pistol, but I like/prefer IWB carry; in that regards, the Rami is a little too pointy for my taste. Given that and the fact I have an Officer's ACP which would get the nod over it, I sold the Rami and bought a CZ75B (great pistol, especially with the Kadet kit) for other purposes.
