Texas CHL Replacement Snafu

So I lost my wallet last night at the movies. In the process of replacing my lost items, I called the Texas CHL Division to get the process rolling. They directed me to their Web site, to simply order a replacement for $25. So far so good. When I log in and bring up my CHL data, I notice it has my race listed as Black. This is not correct. Not that there is anything wrong with that. So I call back, and the gentleman says you can't correct that online, which I knew, so he tells me to download Form CHL-70 to change my Race. There is no option for Race on that form. It is simply the paper version of the online renewal process. So now I have emailed them a description of my dilemma. Only thing is there is a field for my CHL ID, which I don't have memorized, and the online form says they won't respond to incomplete submissions.

Any Texas CHL holders run into this problem? Am I destined to be a black man trapped in a white man's body as far as the Texas DPS is concerned?

I don't recall my CHL even listing Race, and I'm pretty sure I would have noticed. I would look at my Drivers License to see if race is listed but off course I lost that too.

You might have a little 'afro in you.

Does race really matter on that sort of thing? I've put 'mixed' a couple times on college applications. Helps me get into better schools as they have to have a certain percentage on non-white people.

The CHL, like your drivers license, is an official state document and it should be right. It is their mistake and they should fix it no matter what your race is. Down the road someone could use it against you for trying to fake your ID. Call them back and get it right.

Unless they have changed things (recently) your "race" is not listed on a Texas CHL.

In descending order:

Your CHL licence number.
Your TDL number (drivers licence).
Date of Birth.
Expiration Date.
Hair Color.
Eye Color.
Sex (male/female).
Height.
Weight.
Address.
Category (SA or Revolver).
Your Signature.

Thanks for the info. I did not think Race was not listed on the license. That being said, I can order my replacement and let them fix the Race on the back end. I need my CHL yesterday.
