Did a search and it doesn't appear we've had a thread on Texas Gun Trader. Basically just your standard firearm classifieds site, but limited to Texas and divided by area.

I've found it really convenient so far for finding local deals and selling off a few guns. For more unusual items I tend to use GunBroker, since clearly that's a much larger market for exotic stuff. But for more basic stuff (like an 870 I wanted to sell, and a Marlin 60) TGT is good because you can get a better price since folks don't have to pay FFL/shipping.

So far as buying, I do see a lot of high asking prices, but the gun market is pretty odd these days, and many of those folks can probably be argued down if they don't sell to quick. Hope some TX folks find this useful.

Been a regular over there for a year now. They recently upgraded the site so that it is easier to locate specific items in your area. It is a buy/sell board that works fine. Prices are just as silly there as anywhere else, but most people these days factor in $50 +- to negotiate it seems. Unless you are talking AR's of course.

Only Texans can buy things there?

yes and no. the site is promoting ftf deals and most people on there looking to sell want a local deal or at least sell privately and legaly to a *texas* resident, but it's entirely possible for you to find a seller that will ship to your ffl out of texas. i've set up ftf deals on there, and i've also mailed stuff when the drive is too far (but not ffl, just holsters and magazines). so if you're not in texas i guess there's still no harm in taking a look every once in a while.

Some of the prices are high, but it is a good site. I have had a few transactions on it.
