For turnin me onto the Harry Higley wire benders.

I was able to go git a set at a local hobby store along with some music wire
( piano string) and make me a bolt spring for my no name Italian .36 that was the predecessor to this C&B addiction of mine.
Lots o' you fine folk here gave me many leads to a store bot spring for this little brass smoke wagon back when i bot it but all the retailors i contacted told me that they didn't 'have' a spring for said no namer and that maybe they could get close and i'd hafta modify.
Well, i figgered that was challange for me to make my own spring(s) and do that i did and now that i got the jigs and proper wire i will be makin good replacement springs for all my C&B'ers.;)
Anywho, what i did was sort o' copy Wolfe's design 'cept for the 'leg' for the bolt. Was jist easier to do it this way.
Anywho, here's what i came up with and it works pertty darn good.AND, it aint gonna break like one o' them flat affairs.

Oh, yes, it is off hand :p

I didn't realize you were a gunsmith on top of being a stand building woodworker! Wow!
Good work!

Hey jim, if an old woodmaker can do it then i guess a dumb retired electrician has a shot at it, off to the hobby store i go, what did all that stuff cost ya, rich

Hi Rich, it cost me...heyyyyyyy...jist who you callin and "old woodmaker" ?!?!?:D

It was $18+tax,( $1.08, i'm in Westmoreland :neener:), for the Higleys and .90 for the 30" 's o' .040 wire.
It took 3" o' wire to make that spring.
That comes out to 10 springs fer $19.98.
Them springs ordered are $6 each plus shipping.
$60.00 plus shippin' No brainer there.

If you can't find the parts in yer neck they're right up the street from me which is under an hour from you.
