It amazes me how little common sense some people have.
This reminds me of something I saw on a similar show, concerning a bomb-disposal crew. The officer in charge had a load of years experience, but this one time he decided to not wear protective gloves because he felt he needed the extra mobility of his fingers. Naturally, the bomb went off in his hands as he was lowering it into the concrete detonation tank.
Common sense would tell me to always wear the maximum amount of safety equipment, because this might be "the one". Why take chances?
