Gawd...

I'd love to sneak in at night and do that for real with my crack team of ninja welder commandos.

Maybe carve "Free People = Armed People" into the concrete base as well.

i'll throw in tourches with y'all. job would be that much easier if someone could provide me with elec and air lines for my plasma cutter though

That sculpture offends me. Maybe I should file a lawsuit. Works in other areas like Christmas decorations on public property or using "Under God" in the pledge of Allegiance.
Oh, sorry. I'm a caucasian Christian male between the ages of 18 and 65, I can't legally be offended. :fire:

You probably wouldn't even have to do it at night; a hard hat, a couple of screens, a "Caution: Men At Work" sign, and most people wouldn't give it a second thought if you chopped that knot off.

For best effect, make a straight barrel, bring it along, and weld it on.

AJ-like the thought, but reverse it: "Armed People = Free People"

is this for real???? That crap really can't be out there? who is the artis... i mean ******* who made??

Yeah, but I still think it's more tasteful than that "KB!ing Glock" statue in front of the Mayor's office. . . . .

Fella's;

Yes it's real. And yes it's really on the grounds of the U.N. complex in New York, New York. Of course, you do realize don't you, that the U.N. complex is not American soil?

Does that mean if we all get together in our black jammies and make appropriate and tasteful modifications to this 'piece' that we will be invading a foreign country and thereby not subject to arrest in the usa as we are mercenaries? :neener:

this ones worse:

Visitors to the United Nations look at a five-ton gun sculpture called "The Art of Peacemaking" by Canadian artists Sandra Bromley and Wallis Kendal entitled "Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons In All It's Aspects." The sculpture was made of more than 7 000 deactivated weapons and was created in hopes of promoting peace and ending world violence

Yeah, that "art" always offended me too..

Some options:

Torch off the knot, torch on a silencer :what:

Tasteful engraved plaque + fast acting epoxy:

"Free men own guns, slaves don't"

"The UN: Supporting tryants and confounding freemen"

Too tired to think of anything better.....

How about:

The historical record is very clear about how very rare it is for genocide to be attempted — let alone succeed — against an armed populace. If every family on this planet owned a good-quality rifle, genocide itself would be on the path to extinction.
- Kopel, David B., Joanne D. Eisen and Paul Gallant, Gun Ownership and Human Rights, Brown Journal of World Affairs Vol. IX, Issue 2, Winter/Spring 2003.

Load the barrel behind the knot with a suficient load of powder. Invite the entire UN to witness. Pull the trigger.
