"The" .308 Winchester Match Load

It's a lot more challenging when the shooter is puking spitballs and wiffle balls at a target 1000 yards away. Wind doping is what separates the men from the boys.....
Huh, yeah that is something I need to work on myself is dialing wind and elevation back and forth between targets... Are any of the match guys running AR10s? I would think they probably aren't running the super hot 308 handloads through a gas gun lol!! I am debating on selling my really slick 223 DMR and just going all in on three oh hate but I'd have to find the right buyer, as I'm not giving it away for nothing lol.

The shooter's I've shot with in most games, dial elevation and hold windage using a graduated reticle. Holds allow for faster adjustments in shifting wind conditions. Hold over not using a retical designed for it, is just guessing.

Yeah that makes sense to me, I probably will never actually get involved with "real" match shooting but I definitely want/need to get my skills better honed. I mean, as is, I'm pretty decent at basic point shooting but shooting while moving and shooting from weird positions is not anything I've done yet.

There are many skill sets just in the end execution of our hobby. I enjoy bench varmit metallic Silhouette to 600 on tiny animals, and I like offhand shooting lever cowboy guns. Those are hugely different skills and we haven't even touched pistol or contenders. Do what you find the most fun. As shooting paper in f class wasn't my thing. Reactive targets seem to hold my interest for a decade so far.

I saw it attempted once, not a real test. Somebody had advised the guy to neck size his brass, probably not knowing he did not have a bolt action and the gun would not function at all.
Oh that is something he should have tested before the match, but I mean I have to put some blame on the guy just saying to neck size brass without any discretion.
