Are you suggesting that we keep "assault pistols" with bayonets attached??!! :what: McCarthy would have heart failure. (After she found out what the 'pointed thingy' was, of course.) :neener:

.22 LR

Less cleaning needed on your guns, less noise, gentle enough your firearms will last forever shooting it, tons of ammo options and its great in pistols or rifles!

I love that idea, cause if they get closer than 21 feet you can shank em! they outa make them with sreeated edges so you can stab it in them and they can't pull back, then you can empty your magazine at point blank range !!!11!!!!!11!!

then you would ownze!!

it has something to do with your shoulder right? and it goes up? Oh wait... no that's a barrel shroud.

bayonet.... that's like a fishing net.... just not for ocean use... right?

The answers to high-priced ammunition are multiple:

1) .22LR bought in bulk saves an additional 33% ($.99 for 50)
2) BB guns (reusable)
3) Pellet guns
4) Air Soft (reusable)
5) bow & arrow (reusable...usually) I saw Mythbusters have trouble hitting an arrow with an arrow. I didn't have any trouble. :) But, it didn't split. I'll try to post a pic. Now, I can't "unstick" the two arrows.

Then, of course, what firearms aficionado would be complete were he not also an avid fisherman, camper, hiker. For me, the very best way to cut down on the cost of ammunition is to handload, but not merely for the sake of lowering the cost. Most handloads are more accurate. Take the focus over to trying to reduce the size of your groups. Shoot less, shot better.

Arguably the best aspect of session of shooting, as is the case with hunting, is the preparing for (the anticipation) and the cleaning to stow the firearms away to the vault afterwards. If the "shooting" is merely the time-on-trigger, that leaves little enjoyment for me. The same applies to hunting...if the "hunt" is merely the time that one has the buck in the crosshairs, there is little to be enjoyed.

If you really, truly want to learn how to enjoy these attributes to the absolute maximum, ask a single-shot hunter/shooter. However, they, too, could stand to learn from the ever-patient bullet-pushers…BP-shooters. :D In closing, those of you who have never maintained a hunting or a shooting journbal, you have no idea what you're missing. Reducing your session to writing forces a deep reflection and study of shooting and hunting as a "process". It take the enjoyment and reflection (memories) to an all-time high. It is quite simply awesome.

Then, when you achieve greatness with whatever the make and model of your choosing, take a digital picture, write a letter for the company and send it to them. I can assure you, that for example, Mr. Weatherby will answer any letter and pictures that you send to him. I have sent him several, and in each instance he answered. It's about making shooting/hunting a process, and reflecting on the process.

JMHO.
