Rules of the free market:

#1. The market is always right.

#2. If the market is wrong, it is still right.

You can put up an item for whatever you want. The fact that there are no bids leads me to believe that people are not willing to pay ANY amount. They may be willing to pay a bit more, but not that much.

I agree

They can ASK what they want.

Whether they get it or not is a totally different story!

What kills me is all the CETMEs I keep seeing in the $800-900 range.

Some of it is panic, some of it is newbies being taken, some of it is simply supply and demand. No Yugoslavia left to make Yugo rifles.

n00bs

it's fact of life in most anything (guns, drugs, sex, investments, cars, etc), that while you're a n00b you're going to get taken at least a little bit. it takes a while to learn the game before you can start realizing what a good deal is, and then getting it...

Recipe for High Gun Prices

Take one Noob.
Add Large amounts of cash/credit.
Mix together while slowly stirring in fear over a possible upcoming AWB.
Garnish with fancy words like: limited edition, special model.

Next thing you know low-end AK's are going for 5 times (or more) their normal price. :banghead:

1) Buy cheap "assault weapons" prior to to election.
2) Create Gunbroker account
3) Ask exorbitant amounts of money for your cheap weapons
4) ???
5) PROFIT!

If the market price for AK mags is $105 right now, I just might have to start selling. Hell, I don't even have an AK anymore.

This auction from above:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=116915159

Plain old steel AK mag, sold for $105. I've got 15 (I think) of the superior bulgarian waffle mags, and no rifle for them anymore (). I probably paid less than 200. If I could flip them for $1500 right now I'd be tempted.

Take 5 of 'em, and put 'em up starting at $40/each. Worst case - you won't sell any of 'em, and still have 15 mags. Best case - they go for $100/each - you make your $200 back, and put another $300 in your pocket, and still have 10 left. :D

That "old steel AK mag" is a NIB Polytech and a collector just might pay $100 for one to go with the Polytech Legend the collector shelled out big bucks for. Remember there ain't been no Polytechs imported into the US since long before the previous AWB.
