This is my favorite 9mm semi-automatic pistol.

I think it's an underrated gun in the crowded field of 9mm semi-autos on the market today. You have so many fine guns to choose from that it's become somewhat of an underdog. However, I like this gun the most.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT:
1) Better decocker lever location than Sig P226
2) Lower price than HK
3) DA/SA - I am a little intimidated when the G19 is chambered. You have basically a SA gun with no safety. I know, keep finger off trigger, but you just have to be on high alert to keep that trigger clear
4) No safety - I just prefer not to have a safety of any kind on a defense handgun. I'm no Special Forces operator, and can just see myself pointing a gun in a high-stress situation and not being able to pull the trigger when I need to because I forgot about the safety
5) Blackened stainless slide for rust resistance
6) Doesn't try to make a fashion statement like the Beretta PX4 - looks serious and all-business
7) Single action trigger is pretty sweet
8) Grip angle and size is very comfortable for me, especially with the straight backstrap
9) After all said and done, I like the exposed hammer
10) It's an FN

WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT IT:
1) Lack of aftermarket support - barrels, etc.
2) Lack of a .22 conversion kit

Although I've only put 100 rounds through it, I also love my FNP-9. Once I realized what I had, I sold my G-19. Here's my 9 along with its new brother the .357 SIG

I seem to be seeing more and more posts about the FNP-9 so maybe more accessories will become available soon.

They do look like a nice pistol.

However, they seem to have shown the greatest increase in price of any pistol over the last year. If my memory is correct, they used to be less expensive than their major competitors, Glock, S&W M&P, and XD.

The last time I checked at the local gun store they were more expensive than those three (not counting the competition's "special" models). The pistol may certainly be worth the extra money, but they were a much better bargain a year ago.

I handled one at a shooting competition this weekend and was really surprised at how well the thing felt in my hand. I was really impressed with the weapon.

THE best-shooting 9mm that I've owned (and I've owned most of them at one time or another).

Highly underrated.
