The gun you shot the most in 2018.

Pretty much a toss up between my CZ85 and Ruger SR1911. I expect the trend to continue, hard not to shoot the ones you shoot well.

20181111_153751.jpg Easy call for me. The one I shoot the most is my worn old S&W m.15. I keep trying to raise the bar ... Acquired a real nice model 17 w/ 8 3/8" bbl. , then a clean model 14 6". Tried a Beretta 92 w/ target sights for a while. I keep coming back to "Old Faithful" ; always puts a smile on my face. Proportion , balance , easy to put on target , can't be beat!

I have no clue why but this was the year of .308 Winchester using a custom old Remington 700 I built up maybe 25 years ago. I just really got into loading for that particular rifle.

Never shot any of my AR rifles or my M1A, not even my AR 10 but for reasons unknown I was obsessed with that bolt gun. On the short range it was a S&W Model 17 which I also really enjoy shooting.

As far as the chart, great idea, but for me shooting the 22.cal would not be feasible. Shoot too many pistols, rifles etc. Some in bulk packages, etc. Trying to keep a chart would drive me crazy. Maybe just too lazy. Shooting a new gun like my Nano was fairly easy. Since I shoot two sometimes three times a week at different ranges, I am focused on time and will just grab a box or two of ammo and rush to the range for a quick session. My hat is off to the fellow that does this. I wonder if he is a Accountant?

If you're referring to me, I can tell you i'm not an accountant, but I am a computer and numbers kind of guy. :D
With regards to effort; All I do is log ammo usage in a specific tab on my excel workbook. That chart I posted was generated from that data directly; no manual computations performed. If anyone is interested I could post more details about it, or possibly see if I can strip it of data for use as a template.

I love the honest wear on the piece. A fine looking revolver.

2K+ through my Ruger 10/22. Probably about the same through my G19 (9mm and Advantage Arms .22lr conversion). I'm the first to wake up at my home on the weekend, so I head to the range for a couple of hours while the rest of my family sleeps in. Their laziness has helped improve my marksmanship!

I did alot of gun selling and trading this year. Since aquiring my pistol permit last year I've been on a handgun binge. I was on a mission to find out what is right for me and I finally settled on revolvers. I enjoy shooting them more than anything else. I shot my gp100 more than any other gun I own this year . But after aquiring my first single action (.44 special)i have a new found love. Now i have a single six on the way and I'm confident that will be the champ next year. Also in the market for a new black hawk. Here's a pic of the gp in its current state.

I love those grips on the GP! Do you recall who makes them?

I really expected .22lr to be far and away the most used.
That isn't necessarily the case.
I'm always amazed at people's willingness to shoot off centerfire ammo for giggles.

If I'm just having fun it'll be with a .22, or a 20ga for clays (not cheaper, but fun instead of recoily with 12ga and generally higher scoring on anything but full choke shots).

If I'm shooting a centerfire rifle, I'm either working on a load, hunting, competing, or something's gone badly wrong.

I thought mine might have been my Redhawk. It was certainly the #1 choice last year. Then I realized the Bisley conversion to my SBH had stolen a considerable amount of the RH's ammo and range time.

So it was neither. My top spot for range favorite of 2018 (so far) goes to a mid-year purchase....

This Sig 1911 STX. Now with ridiculously thick Hogue micarta grip panels.
