Morbid curiosity caused me to go back and look at the rest of the pictures.:barf: Those :cuss: pacifist brits better not ask us for more guns when they are getting thier butts kicked again.

Those miniguns actually don't look too bad...
And some of the Browning 50 cal's.

But that is just plain sick!

THe presence of so many american military weapons almost makes me think that this is on of OUR (as in american military) dump sites. I wouldnt outright blame the brittish. These CLEARLY arent confiscated weapons. I dont think the brittish people ever had all that man M2s in their possesion.

When I was stationed at CAFB in the PI, I read an article in the Stars and Stripes about the destruction of two boxcars full of M1 rifles, M1,M2, and M1A1 carbines, .45 pistols and grease guns. That was in 1960 and that made me nausous then. Now, to see this wanton destruction.........

:(

BTW, did you notice the Swedish Ks in there??

Now that you mention that, I have to agree, I don't know why I missed that before. Must have been the the U.K. domain, the pile of AK's, or the references to Yugoslavia, but yes, it seems like the dumpground is in fact probably somewhere in the U.S. Could easily be wrong, but it just seems that way to me.

I gotta figure out a way to email the owner of this sight so I can understand what the hell is going on here.

obviously someone got caught in photo 7 trying to save one of them.
what i would give for those k98s......not like i'll ever use 'em for reproducing....:D

 :(

Id be more than happy to give one or all of these a warm home.

But of cours, I'd have to build a vault for them...

or more likely in light of some of the other items mixed in (such as the high concentration of non-US longarms) a dump in country that has received large amounts of support in the form of armaments from the US and our allies, OR that has fought against such a nation/group.

my bets are on someplace in central Europe, many of the arms in those piles are too recent and/or rare to have been intentionally tossed by a stateside military base.

then again it maybe a Dump on a US or Allied base in central europe, and the dump is utlized by both the host nation and the US/Brit etc unit stationed there, as well as being a dump for the local law enforecment group(s)

i kid you not i am actully tearfull right now

i had to wipe my eyes and blow my nose.

there will be hell to pay if i ever meet the person responsable.

Considering how rusted the metal is, and how rotted the wood is, it probably would take 10 of each just to get enough useable parts to make one. I'm game........

I was going shooting today, but I'm too sick now.

Where ever this is, those guns have been sitting out in the weather for years. So you know it can't be somewhere that is accessable to people. Otherwise they'd be picked clean. Can we say covert rescue missions???

Can you imagine the dollar value of just the magazines alone???

Only ones I don't feel sorry for are the GreaseGuns. They probably work better now

UK, Yugoslavia, USA, wherever--people, this is what'll happen to America in 25 years. If nothing changes, that is... :(

Reminds me of one of those "Feed the starving children" commercials.

I'm one of those sick SOBs who walks through a junkyard and sees nothing but restoration projects ... I get all giddy :p

Boy I wish I knew where this is ... I bet you could find a few salvageable pieces among those piles of rust. If nothing else I bet you could find a few that could be made into wallhangers.

However, if this is indeed a military dump, its possible that all of those guns have problems like cracked recievers and warped barrels and such and thats why they where thrown away.

I ... I need a moment.

Zundfolge,
Good receiver here, decent barrel there, working trigger group yonder ... pretty soon you've got a few dozen pretty nice weapons.

And the magazines too!

I'm wondering if some of these arms on the bottom of the piles, towards the middle, might not have been somewhat protected from the weather. At least to the extent that they might be capable of restoration.

Overall this is a big shame, a foolish waste. Even if just from a military viewpoint. Can't these people conceive of ever having a defense need for these weapons?

These pictures reminds me of the complaints the N. Vietnamese government was making after '75 about how badly the immense stockpiles of US war material captured from the South were being maintained, especially the aircraft. In fact I wonder if these pictures might not be from Vietnam.

Guys, let's buy a boat and play smuggler. So long as we keep it and the contents off-shore, we're legal. Anybody want to suggest a good name for our ship? It can be a smuggler theme or a pirate theme.
