Hey Guys, I was wondering what smith and wesson would charge for a barrel change and a reblue on my model 29. I was wondering if someone has ever had this done and what Im looking at in price range compared to a local smith. The Smith is a 29-3 with the crush fit barrel I believe. I haven't traded for it yet and that is why I was asking prices. Always a pleasure guys and sorry if I missed this post somewhere else.

Unless you can buy it well below market price?

It would be far more cost effective to keep looking for one with the barrel length you want.

A new barrel will run close to $200, and fitting it an additional $100 or so.

And a factory reblue another $200+
You are talking about $500+ to sink into a second hand revolver.
Might do better to shop for one with the barrel length you want and little finish wear.

Thanks guys, I believe I will stay clear of it.
