Been hearing about a new GLOCK comng with all kinds of bells and whistles.

Anyone actually HELD one?

This is what I've heard: arched selectable back strap for the grip, RTF on the grip, new slide cuts, switchable ambi mag drop release, recoil reducing spring, new sights.

How much of this is real I cannot attest.

WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

Haven't heard about it, but that sounds interesting. I kind of like 3rd Gen Glocks as they are though. I really hope Glock doesn't stop making them, even if they do come out with a new style. Sometimes no-frills is the best option.

I have messed around with one. I wasn't sure if I would like it at first but I really do. The grip is much Grippier.

i thought they were holding up the 4th Gen for the SHOT show.

Glock had to keep up with the XD and M&P...plus they had to address the weapon light issue

Sounds like you're talking about the yet to be released 4th generation Glock. You hit all the rumors that are flying around except for maybe the RTF on the grip (it's rumered to be in-between the standard 3rd gen and RTF2 grip...).
No one knows what's true and what's rumor until it's unveiled at shot show in January...
Sounds like it's going to be pretty awesome.

RUMOR has it GLOCK will reveal this pistol at SHOT and begin selling soon thereafter.

I like SIMPLE, less to go wrong and GLOCK fits that nicely.

Being a lefty I would like the new mag release feature. Little else holds interest.

Umm what are you talking about "yet to be released"? If the 4th Gen Glock looks like this

Than I have a buddy who bought one about a month ago...

I am amazed at the people who are under the impression that the RTF is the 4th generation... anyone have a pick of the REAL 4th generation?

I guess I like the Glock the way it is. Yeah the M&P and the XD have additional features but I think those features are lost on a Glock. Glocks are simple and no frills. Glocks sell themselves without backstraps and improved rails. The gun industry is going the way of the archery industry and getting way to obsessed with accessories.

I really dislike the RTF frame, feels terrible. I hope they lose it.

HK do grippy frames right, but not Glock.

I'm still looking for a nice 2nd gen Glock 19. Maybe I should go ahead and get a 3rd gen while I still can.

The "coming" GLOCK is NOT RTF but a "reduced" gripping finish I am told.

Apparently RTF is not a big winner and the company is taming it down.

Still, when is the SHOT show? That is when all will be revealed.

I actually like the RTF and I DONT like Glocks... it is actually much more comfortable in my hand than the traditional glock texture and I imagine I would be able to keep my grip (forgive the pun) on the gun much better than the others...I am curious about the supposed coming design... maybe I will become a Glock fan though I kinda doubt it.

Glock has totally been asleep at the switch concerning interchangeable back straps.

It's about damn time !

I personally would love to see a single stack 9mm, 3.5" barrel, full grip. Well maybe with a 28" barrel so they would have enough points to import them. Don't you love gun laws...

That is why Glock needs to start making them over here under a subsidiary like Glock-USA.

The RTF and curved slide cuts are real, on the latest G22s. While probably functional, I personally did not care for the one I handled. The likelihood that I would actually need the extra gripping power is very low. Another Glock model (21SF?) has fully ambi magazine releases. All these features in the same gun, I've yet to see or hear of. And I am unsure how a recoil spring is going to actually reduce recoil - you just can't cheat Mr. Newton. ;)
