Is anyone interested in trying out the [soon to be released] new trigger that Kahr is going to be coming out with [and can be seen on their "competition" type gun now]? It is supposed to be half the travel of the original version, and has the "Glock style" trigger safety thing.

I like Kahrs for conceal carry and think the new trigger might make me interested in one [because I couldn't get used to the long DAO].

Sure, I will volunteer if they want to send me a free gun! Just kidding but I really like the DAO trigger on my CM9. It's smooth and not all that long, especially compared to a lot of other DAO guns I have tried.

I like the trigger on my CM9, don't like the triggers on stock Glocks, so I'm not enthused about the trigger change although I don't plan on buying another Kahr anyway (unless they chamber the P380 for .32 ACP :))

So, it still has a bit of travel, but perhaps a more defined break point.

I prefer 1911s, and I like the Kahr trigger. Feels like a wheelgun that had a triggerjob performed by a good 'smith. I wouldn't mind a short reset though...

The trigger on my Kahr P9 was just one of MANY problems that crummy little thing had - pull the trigger, and maybe the gun would fire, maybe it wouldn't. It just wasn't engaging the striker properly and the pistol remained unreliable after multiple trips back to Kahr.

Sorry for your trouble^^^^^. I have had the complete opposite experience with my PM9 over the years.

I love the trigger on my Kahr PM9. It is one of the few guns I own that still has a totally stock trigger system in it.

From the literary description, I think this will be a big step downward in trigger design for a carry gun.

I tried the new trigger on the Kahrs at SHOT and all I can say is there is going to be a lot of ADs. Talk about short release!! It was like a Savage Accu-Trigger with half(or less) travel than a Glock. What I sampled was more of a rifle like trigger than something that should be on a defensive pistol. A trigger like this was closer to a target/competition 1911,it should only be on a competition style gun,and for highly experienced shooters.

I don't know if I like this. I really do appreciate pistols with long revolveresque triggers (and Kahr has one of the best). I bought my wife an older LC9 for that very reason.

I like both style triggers ok, but feel more comfortable with the longer trigger pull on a carry gun (at least one without an additional manual safety lever). Don't know if it really makes a difference from a safety standpoint, but I've always bought into the argument that it does. I shoot my PM45 very well, so I'm not really all that anxious to check into anything different.

If you are attuned to a revolver trigger, there is something magical about the Kahr trigger.
The time I spend recovering from recoil, I'm already loading up the trigger and, as the sights align, the gun fires.

As they are, a Kahr trigger is very good. It's not a cocked and locked tuned 1911, but, it's very good in its own right.

I'm not willing to risk my gun allowance on a new design from Kahr.

Someone else can let me know how it works.

I often carry my CM9- I would NOT want half the trigger pull it has now.
Range or general use gun-fine. Carry- no way.

I watched a video on their website, on the new TP45. Perhaps there is some info on the website as it's quite extensive. The new 45 was highlighted and shots were being made from 200+ yards offhand.

Like 420stainless said, the Kahr trigger, at least on the PM45, is smooth and reliable. I'm a new user but quickly adapted to the trigger and had no trouble with the reset. I shoot it nearly as well on the first outing as I do my larger .45 I've had for five years. I would agree a quicker reset would be welcome.

So, the next question is, . . . . if so many people like the Kahr trigger, what's up with the "Gen 2" trigger?

Are they going to keep making pistols with the "Gen 1" and add in pistols with the "Gen 2"? They may lose some buyers if they go strictly to the "Gen 2" [so it would seem].

For me [and those who may have not cared much for the current trigger], they may get some sales, but it will be interesting when we know the rest of the story.

That sounds really appealing!

I have to wonder, for competition oriented guns, why they are using the TP series frames rather than the T series.

Those making a metal framed, T9/T45 set up as the Gen2 with the new firing system and optics (and maybe some frontstrap checkering/golfball/snake scales/whatever), would be the bees knees. The extra recoil reduction from the weight would get you back on target faster, I don't think people are carrying a 6" RMR sight type gun anyway, and the metal frame allows to swap out grips and customize as you see fit.
